No available written history of the OSIA Orphanage in Nutley, NJ.

From some of the documents in the collection (annual reports, pamphlets,
newspaper clippings), it appears that the Orphanage was founded in 1923
by the Grand Venerable of the New Jersey Lodge , Francesco Palleria who
served as the orphanage's president until his death in October 1963. 

 The orphanage was inaugurated on Sunday, June 24, 1923.

Major renovation of the interior occurred in the early 1960's. No records available for the history of the orphanage after the 1960's.
