Last July 4th, Guerand was driving one of two full sized autos which locked wheels at the Ho Ho Kus dirt track and crashed into the infield, killing a man and a 10 year old boy, and injuring 16 others. The track was closed after the accident.

Miami Fla., April 3 - George Guerand, composing room employee for the Miami Herald, glanced at an Associated Press story from Nutley, N.J., last night before assigning it to a linotype operator.
